Copacabana Beach, 4km long, is one of the most famous beaches and together with Ipanema Beach it stays busy all year around. The Brazilians love to be outside, walking, jogging, bicycling, going to the beaches and meeting each other. Just behind the beaches you will find kiosks where you can sit under an umbrella and enjoy an Agua de Coco (chilled coconut water) straight from the coconut and just watch the world go by.
Some of the most famous landmarks and hotspots are; Christ the Redeemer (the giant statue on the Corcovado mountain), Sugarloaf Mountain (with its cable car), the Sambodromo ( a permanent parade avenue which is used during the Carnival), Maracana Stadium ( one of the largest football stadiums in the world.
